Bought 29/09/2004 from Scotts Garage in Brighton, for £995 (+ road tax £110). The Fiat Cinquecento S (29/11/95 'N') 899cc is a very good first car, especially seeing as for a young driver such as myself, group 1 car insurance is far preferable to say, even group 4 insurance (~£500 a year difference!). The only picture not shown is the excuse for a boot. As you can imagine, its not that big... but it suits my purpose - going into university each day.

Pros | Cons |
Cheap to insure (Group 1
insurance) Economical (45 MPG => ~7p per mile ) Full service history Near perfect bodywork (a few stone chips etc. needed some attn.) Well laid out instruments on dash Good visibility from driver's seat |
Engine relies on moving
air-flow to cool it down (i.e. it heats up when manoeuvring / stuck in
slow moving traffic) Radio / Cassette supplied with car was broken (now have Goodmans GCE7205USB Radio/CD/USB) 1-way valve for washer fluid to the rear screen was broken - now fixed (well, the valve now lets water through the intended way, but there is a lot of back-flow!) Pedals quite close together Not the most powerful beast for overtaking / accel. from lights! (it is only 899cc after all!) |
